Flourishing on the Sunshine Coast

The Sunshine Coast has always been a network of people that revel in our history and community. As we continue to flourish, it is becoming more important to remember where we started and how far we have come.

The Clayton family, who own Clayton’s Heritage Market and the Trail Bay Centre, have been around since the beginning. Recently featured in an article by the BC Marketplace, you can read further about how they created a legacy business that continues to adapt and grow as the Sunshine Coast does. From starting the first 350 solar-powered BC grocery store system to expanding their list of tenants in the centre, we can expect many more amazing years to come for the Clayton family.

The article goes on to discuss the myriad of small businesses, especially long-time family-owned stores, that have become the foundation of the Sunshine Coast. Starting with Molly’s Reach in Gibsons, where The Beachcombers TV show starred, to local favourites like Ruby Lake Resort and Kenmac Auto Parts.

If you’d like to read more about the Coast and its small businesses, there is now a whole category dedicated to our community on the BC Marketplace website.
